Grass Types:

Bermuda Grass - Tif-way 419 is a deep green Bermuda grass with a medium-fine texture. It has excellent weed and disease resistance and is a superior turf for fairways, tees, athletic fields and home lawns. When cut at 3/4 to 1 1/2 inches, it provides an excellent impact-absorbing cushion. Because of its very dense top growth, Tifway 419 tolerates more wear and more able to resist weed invasion. It is more resilient in winter months when the grass is dormant.

Common Bermuda Grass - adapted for a wide range of soil types from sandy to clay soils.  Best adapted to the lower 1/3 of the US on well drained sites.  Very drought tolerant but still can stand flooding for short periods.  Used for both roadside erosion control, lawns, athletic fields and pastures.

Fescue Grass - one of the more important grasses used throughout the transition zone in cooler areas.  It is a bunch type grass established from seeds.  Fescue can be used anywhere a cool season all around general-purpose grass is needed. A clumping grass that grows well in shady areas and is often mixed with other grasses for just this quality.

St. Augustine Grass - is warm season, perennial grass that is a widely used. A native grass of tropical origin that extends from water marshes (salty & fresh), lagoon fringes, and sandy beach ridges.

Zoysia Grass - are grown successfully from the upper warm tropical season areas north to even in some areas of the cool season zones, depending on the variety.  Zoysia makes a beautiful lawn with a fine to medium textured leaf.  Zenith Zoysia is known to survive as far north as Chicago.
